Oil Pulling - Why spit?

So you wake up in the morning, and do this oil pulling with coconut oil for dental health and whatever other voodoo benefits. You spend 20 minutes swishing around in your mouth a super healthy food, getting it all mixed with digestive enzymes so its going to digest super well.

Then you spit it out? Why? Why not get the healthy calories?

I don't believe in it at all, but that's the theory.

yeh i guess that's true too, i mean the "reason" you spit after brushing is because you are using something abrasive to loosen up shit from the teeth, i think its just an awesome habit. also, yes bacteria can survive stomach acid.

Wouldn't normal eating have all of the same things? Does any of that stuff survive stomach acid?

I've read the pulling "toxins" thing is bogus. Even so, they would get pulled just in normal eating.

Because the oil is supposedly pulling out all sorts of toxins. You don't want to swallow that crap.
