I'm super morbidly obese. Will paleo work for me?

I workout daily, but I don't count calories. I do a few minutes of cardio and lift heavy weight. I am seeing changes in my body, but should I just continue this way. My diet is strictly paleo

Better yet, measure and write down everything you eat for 3-7 days. Then go through and input it into a calorie calculator… if you start tracking right away, you will cut back as you'll think you're overeating and won't get an accurate measure. Even the act of measuring everything will cause you to cut back intentionally. You can add 30-50% on top of what you measure probably.

Just checking counts for a few days will tell you whether you're grossly overeating or undereating. I literally had no idea how much I was consuming.

For better answers please define what foods you eat on your paleo diet and please define what you mean by 'work for me'. For example are you asking if low carb will help with weight loss, or..?

Walk. Get a pedometer and aim for 10,000 steps a day. This will take a couple hours a day. You won't get enough just walking around the office or house.

A few minutes a day of lifting is not anywhere close to what walking will do to burn up flab. I went from 42" waistline to 36" using walking as my only exercise. It's the ultimate Paleo exercise - similar to hunt-and-gather behavior - and has low impact on the joints and CV system.

A lot of paleos don't like calorie counting, but it's a legit tool for weight loss that works. There's numerous tools online or as phone apps nowadays that make it easy, Google it, or ask if you want suggestions.

Will certainly help you. Weight loss is going to depend on what you were eating vs. what you are now eating, but more than likely pounds will come off. Stick with it even with stalls in loss and eventually happy days.
