Which nuts are lowest in protein?

I'm considering consuming nut butters for IM fasts but need to minimize protein consumption. Which nut butters would be suitable, if any? I would imagine at a minimum coconut butter should do.

If you want to minimize protein (your requirement) and Omega-6 (the other common requirement you should be thinking about) there are no other choices. If you don't care about Omega-6 (such as maybe you eat salmon + fish oil daily) then pecans have as little protein as Macadamias and only twice as much Omega-6. The problem is, nuts are best left a portion of a meal and not consumed in large quantities as they are already dense in nutrients.

Mac nuts are awesome and I already eat plenty of them but I do tire of them since that's all I eat. What should I try next?

Well, coconut is not a nut. On to answering your question:

I think the best answer for you is macadamia, for more reasons than protein. I quickly looked up 3 nuts: almond, hazelnut, macadamia. 1 Cup chopped nuts are 20g, 17g, 10g respectively. The benefit of macadamia's is that, amongst nuts, they are the lowest in O6 pufas, and highest in mono and sat fats. They still have alot of O6 but far less than the others.
