Just came across this:

Is there any merit in this?

true, i shouldn't have used the word. but i still don't see any purpose for adding heat. simply soaking them overnight is all you need.

Dehydrating nuts at 150 degrees is NOT roasting them. Once the nuts are soaked and sprouted, they need to be dehydrated or they will rot VERY quickly. Also, adding salt to food is necessary once processed foods are taken out of the equation to ensure you are consuming enough. Salt to your liking, but the amount listed on the site linked is not an inordinate amount of salt.

i always soak raw nuts and seeds, but i see no merit in essentially roasting them in the oven nor do i see a reason why you would need all of that salt. why heat a perfectly good nut and kill many of the nutrients and vitamins it provides? that defeats the purpose of sprouting them in the first place.

definitely soak and sprout your nuts, though, if you don't already. it's easy, all you need is water and 7-24 hours. it makes them much easier to digest and makes the nutrients more readily available to the body.
