Problems with too many vitamins from almonds? Vitamin E causing yellow splotches.

Has anyone had an issue with too much vitamin E or other vitamins? I got almonds, spinach, and blueberries this weekend (all of which are rich in vitamin E) and have been breaking out in yellow splotches- just a few about the size of a quarter on my chest. Is this a sign that I'm eating too much of these foods? Can another nut replace almonds? Thanks!

I looked up that rash but my spots were yellow not red... and really more a bruise than a rash. I think maybe I ran into something and forgot... classic paranoid me thought I was eating wrong :/ Thank you!

Have you tried searching the web for information on vitamin E overdose? That does not sound like a symptom that's widely recognized. Also, overdosing requires large quantities (like, the kind you can only reasonably get from a pill) and takes a while to develop. I doubt vitamin E is your problem.

Just a wild guess, but have you looked up pityriasis rosea? That's what I think of when I hear "circular chest rash." It could be many other things too, so consult your doctor if it doesn't go away or get worse.

As for other nuts -- most nuts are considered healthy by paleo folks. This doesn't include peanuts (actually a legume), which are scorned. There's debate about whether you should eat more than about 1 serving of nuts a day, and some people find that they're unusually susceptible to overeating them. But in general, nuts are a nutritious whole food and great to eat.
