Eating raw nuts instead of meals?

Would it be safe to eat just nuts (various kinds, cashew, almonds, etc.) for a meal? Maybe with a little additional fruits?

Are you talking about doing this on occasion? Or about eating one meal of nuts once a day? More frequently?

Safe as in not causing any health problems in the long run

Depends on your goals. Safe? Well, unless you have an allergy, you can survive. But nuts aren't very filling, and you probably won't be losing weight (if that's your goal). They're usually high calorie/high carb depending on the nuts. You also won't be getting all the vitamins/minerals you need. That's why they're usually snacks and not meals.

Your digestive systems gonna have a hell of a time. You'll survive, but you're gonna need more nutrients than that eventually.

If we are going on a car trip or a hike I always take along a bag of almonds with some raisins or other dried fruit. No big deal to skip a "regular" meal and eat some nuts. In my case making a habit of it would be bad because I can eat a load of nuts before realizing how many I've overeaten. Eating this while watching someone else eat a McD's meal gives me a bit of healthy pleasure.

You're not going to die if that's what you're asking.
