Are we nutritious?

Say an alien species has invaded Earth. They are vastly superior to us in intelligence, thus this naturally gives them the right to hunt us down for consumption. So...what is our body composition? Obviously body fat would vary from person to person, but would the lipid profile be similar (in terms of PUFA/MUFA/SF)? Would we be like tuna, nutritious but full of toxins? ;) Would they pay extra for certified paleo humans, or do they prefer higher fat fare?

Thinking about this has made me realize how totally homogenized farm animals are--even the grassfed, organic ones.

Sharks, cougars, and crocodiles seem to find us perfectly nutritious, whether we're certified organic or not.

Ok, I'm all for some fun mind candy, but if you look around... species here on Earth are adapted to different things. Grapes and onions, even in small doses, can kill domestic dogs by knocking out their kidneys, yet we can eat them without any major issues. Cats are carnivores, cows herbivores, etc., etc., etc...

Nutritious for whom, and evolutionarily adapted to what?

Since we have no idea what these fictional aliens are adapted to, or under what conditions they evolved, then the question is just very, very vague conjecture.

We haven't even quite figured out what optimal nutrition is for each and every human (although it's pretty clear to me that it varies from person to person) so whether or not we would be nutritious to some other fictional group, one with no fictional background provided, is pointless IMO.

We have bacteria on Earth that thrive on arsenic. Who is to say that some alien species couldn't be thriving on something just as bizarre to our paradigm?

If the alien species are too dumb to even figure that one out, then they are thousands of light years away without much chance of developing the means to get here and invade us any time soon.

Or maybe they'll just molecularly bake us.:p
