Best popsicle? No HCFS, plz

My girlfriend loves her popsicles and just brought home some HCFS pops. Not my idea of The Good Poo.

Any recommendations on your fav? Good brands? Good ones to make? Fun ways to make them?

Yes but is it 100% of whole fruit? It's a common leanwashing trick. Unfortunately, I don't think you'll likely ever know but maybe try contacting Trade Joe's headquarters.

Any combination of liquid that floats your canoe is the answer! I always have some in my freezer during the summer, I live in NY so anything extra cooling wins.

  • Fresh juice from the vegan place up the street from my apartment. Ginger, apple, kale, celery, beet, grapefruit, wheatgrass, et al. On their own or blended.
  • Macerations that I make myself with herbs that I'll combine with tea
  • Any flavour of tea - add some citrus, a little honey
  • If you're doing dairy mix smashed berries with yogurt
  • Booze, as long as the ratios are correct, will freeze. Mojito, Margarita - regular lime or do a watermelon or strawberry version - FRESH fruit pureed, I love Campari and grapefruit.

I have a a billion more, I do 18 at a time, but these should get you going. Not sure where you live but I can get some rad paletas here, homemade without sugar. Pepino con chile y limon - spicy cucumber with lime definitely beats the heat.

Have fun!

It's not a Popsicle - but I'd like to recommend frozen grapes.

Easy, all natural, cheap, no mess. Trader Joe's sells Strawberry and a Peach variety of popsickle, I think they're like 1.99 for 6 or 8, so tasty and it's 100% fruit.

Blend some fruit (berries and peaches work well) with ice/water and freeze. I tried a popsicle the other week and I spit it out b/c it tasted so sugary. I can't believe I used to eat that stuff.

Make your favorite smoothie blend, pour it in to one of these http://www.amazon.com/s?ie=UTF8&keywords=popsicle%20mold&rh=n%3A284507%2Ck%3Apopsicle%20mold&page=1 and enjoy.

I'll do some homemade lemonade (either unsweetened or with a hint of stevia), maybe add some ginger juice, pour it into popsicle molds and suck on them all summer. I've also done berries in mint tea for frozey treats.

I like your question and I'll selfishly check back for good ideas.

This is a non-popsicle idea. I haven't tried this yet but I will. A friend mentioned when her kids were younger she used to cut fresh watermelon into cubes and freeze them. She said it's really good and her kids loved them.

While watermelon is a high-sugar fruit and portions should be moderate, I have to believe it's better for you than any commercial brand of popsicle. But based on my experience with watermelon I can see where it would work and be delicious.

I have tried eating frozen berries and I like them.
