Please help me-knee pain& weight gain

hello I'm Joey . I'm 34 years old. My weight is 62Kg, 162cm. I'm having knee pain since 6 years ago. X-ray show my both knee cartilage is gone. I never hurt my knee before or did any aggressive exercise. Now my knee is getting worse. I can't climb up stairs or go down stairs like normal people. Im having pain when do it. Is real sharp pain, sometimes it won't be that pain but I will no energy to climb up. No energy to walk. 


Im an Asian, menstrual is normal, no smoking not really exercise but sometimes I will do mild tai chi as I can't do other exercise which I feel pain on my knee. Now I'm getting heavier and really hard to get lost in weight. Even I'm not eat much but it seem nothing happen when I diet. Some dr told me , even I'm breath only I will get fat. This really disappointment and scare me a lots. I know I should keep slim down as I don't want to burden my leg. Recently I got my thyroid test which is very normal but my cortisol a bit lower ( 185 nmo1/l ) but Dr said is still normal for the range . So can anyone help me .. what I can do to have a weight lost , And take away my knee pain. It is really influenced my job and my life. Help me with advice . Thank you
