Anyone on PlaeoHacks working shift-work?

Just wondering how you adjust your diet around that time: how much do you eat, when you eat. I work on 12 hour rotations, usually 6 to 6 or 10 to 10. Anyone has advice that really works for them?

I thought I'd bring this post up and share!

Shift-workers, feel free to give your tips!

I agree! I do indeed some period of fasting, especially when starting my nights. During the 10 to 10s, I usually don't eat up until lunch (noon) and if I do, it's just a breakfast between 4 and 7. Supper is eaten upon waking up, usually around 8. And you DO save up quite a bit of time cooking all at once! And you only clean the dishes once! Thanks for your input, LateralFractal.

Yup! Sounds about what I do! Everything must be planned in our case. Any difference in the time that you eat?

Intermittent fasting can free up your schedule; as fasts of 12, 24, 36 or even 48 hours are not unheard of on an established ketogenic diet. Meals get larger, intervals get longer; aggregate cooking time doesn't scale up as much as volume - so time spent cooking and cleaning per week can actually go down noticeably.

Yep, i work similar hours. I just try to plan and cook meals the best i can on days off or spare evenings i get. I usually buy meat in bulk and cook enough for about 5-10 meals at one time and just add salad/butter and try to cook some veg when i get the chance.
