So, I got this E-mail saying that the single best way for me to use Paleo Hacks was to introduce myself to the community. Therefore, here I go.
I found Paleohacks by Googling the Paleo Diet. I'm more of a primal kind of guy, but have found Paleohacks to be pretty useful. I am interested in paleo because last year, I developed Rheumatoid Arthritis in both of my shoulders and wrists. It was crippling at first and literally took me months to be able to become active again.I am now back to my average weight and am actually in better shape than ever, but still have inflammation and the medication is prohibitively expensive. I am hoping to put this into remission by changing my lifestyle.
I found that by simply giving up dairy to start with, the inflammation went down about 80 percent. As a bonus, I lost 5 lbs that first week.I am already physically active, but I have found that I still have ample energy and have not had a carb bonk from giving them up. The hardest thing for me has been the occasional sugar binge.
So this is week three switching to paleo. I went on a sugar binge the other day and i could feel the inflammation increase. It actually hurt.
Anyhow, that's my introduction.

hey Tim I also am a newbie to Paleo and also PaleoHacks.
I was actually looking for some info on the benefits of coconut oil and found some info on a website www.paleo.com.au which got me reading about Paleo, I then followed this up for more info and then watch a great video and read some books & before long it was, yeah this makes sense lets just do it! (which reminds me I need to go back and leave a thank you message on that site)
I am loving Paleo so far & this is only my first week but feel so right about this I can't see me stopping anytime soon!!
I dont look at it as a diet or that I am missing out on anything I just see it as eating as I should have been all along!
I am waiting for the health benefits to kick in but am so positive it will happen! I also have lost weight as I can feel it in my clothes and I do not feel as bloated. I also am hoping that inflamation will decrease as I have some muscle/bone injuries.
It has made me really look at the food I eat and I have cut out everything that is not Paleo.
Iam being more prepared and have started to cook as well so I dont go with out. I am making the food I need and have shopped for any ingredients I see on the recipes I like. The recipes I have found are so easy. If you have a sweet tooth as I do then you can make some healthy treats, obviously eating them in moderation, there are plenty of paleo cook books out there.
check out the paleo food pyramid it gives a good idea of food balance.
