Not really, data mining for a quick resource guide is actually helpful, some people like to help others.

This seems awfully general.

There is no "definitive guide" and it can never be written. People need to do their own homework and learn about health from as many different angles as possible. Toward that end I usually send people a link dump that looks like the following (heavy focus on diet, for a reason)

Getting oriented (no particular order)

Rubber hits the road

Questions?

Dr Kurt G. Harris "Gettin Started" - http://www.archevore.com/get-started/

and Modern Paleo Principles - http://www.modernpaleo.com/principles.html

More than that is overwhelming...

Tim Ferriss posted a chapter of Robb Wolf's "Paleo Solution" on his blog under the title "How to Keep Feces Out of Your Bloodstream (or Lose 10 Pounds in 14 Days)"

http://www.fourhourworkweek.com/blog/2010/09/19/paleo-diet-solution/

Some comments may be worth reading, too - but it's easy to get overwhelmed. :)

This may be a good starting point from someone who's interested. Of course, if the person is not interested to begin with, he'll reply with the typical "but I'm not celiac" etc., and there's not much you can do about that.

used to be "Neanderthin" but it's been out of print for awhile. My copy is on loan to a friend. I've directed people to my site only because I was sick of explaining the way I ate.

I usually refer people to robbwolf.com, whole9life.com, marksdailyapple.com, and balancedbites.com All good resources, easy to understand and follow for the newbie.
