Hi there everyone! So I'm very new to paleo but I have a fair understanding of the idea. But I was wondering what was the craic with this bullet proof coffee craic. Is it paleo even with butter? I tried some this morning and I added some agave nectar and I'm not sure if it's paleo with butter and agave? If it is can I take it everyday? I'm currently trying to cut fat and I'm training 3x per week. Anyway thanks for reading I'd be real pleased to get some advice!

I'm not sure what the word "craic" means, but Agave is not paleo by any stretch. Certainly the agave cactus is quite paleo, and tequila is acceptable as an alcoholic drink, but "Agave Nectar" is anything but - it's a higher fructose syrup than high fructose corn syrup. Stay away, it's pure evil with a lot of marketing to make it look like it's good.

I'm not sure why you'd be trying to cut fat, if anything, fat is beneficial, certainly fat from grassfed cows is. I could understand if you're allergic to dairy and butter sets you off, or if you've got Familial Homocysteinuria, there's no reason to be afraid of fats.

If you are trying to lose fat, I don't think the agave nectar is a good idea as it contains a lot of fructose which your liver processes by changing it to fatty acids. As for the bulletproof coffee, I've never tried it, but a lot of people on this board do and I guess some will be along soon to help you out.

The rules will be up to you. For me if it's processed (which butter is and agave is and coffee is) then I don't eat. It doesn't grow on trees or run in the wild so it's not healthy and I regard it as junk. I don';t have caffeine or dairy products or sugar substitutes. I think drinking water is best. It is what we are made to drink and drank for thousands of y ears. Mind you I've never liked tea or coffee so it's no hardship for me and milk makes my nose run so I don't have that anyway.
