CD's answer covers this, but just to make it explicit: Don't restrict carbohydrates unless you have a good reason for wanting to go into ketosis. A lot of people think that paleo is necessarily low-carb, but it's not. You want plenty of fat and protein in your diet, but if you're young and active it's fine to get 100-150g of carbs or even more. Go for root vegetables and fruit, and avoid grains.

Eat primarily dark green vegetables and root vegetables. Eat other vegetables as desired

Don't ignore fruit, but it should be secondary to vegetables.

Also include animal products, red meat, pork, poultry, fish, organs, and eggs.

Use (non-seed) oils, butter and lard as vehicles for cooking. Use olive oil and vinegar as dressings. Limit sugar consumption that doesn't come from fruit.

Consume dairy (whole, cheese, and fermented) as tolerated
