Effects of prolonged fasting on AMPK signaling, gene expression and mitochondrial respiratory-chain content in skeletal muscle from lean and obese individuals. http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/23512807

Does anyone have access to the full study?

Jack kruse and other paleo-friendly doctors have said that fasting is not always a good idea for those who are obese or still are in the mode of losing weight. That's something to practice after you reached your goals.

Im pretty sure I read somewhere about a very obese male who was fasted for over a year (about 1 year and 2 weeks if I remember correctly) he got all his vitamins and minerals, the essential ones atleast, from a pill or something similar, he was under close supervision by a doctor and he successfully lost an incredible amount of weight. I'll try find the source if I can
