Hi! Question 1: IF you fast while in Ketosis will you lose body fat (if you have body fat, which I do) (i.e. will your body turn to this for energy, even when you aren't eating fat) Question 2: I understand fat cannot give you all the nutrients... (more)
Background- paleo for over a year (80%). I lost a bit in the beginning and then weight loss tapered off. I work out about 4 days a week, hot yoga and weight lifting/cardio. I was becoming very frustrated because after having two babies, I wasn't... (more)
Congrats! You won't lose muscle if you are lifting regularly and eating a reasonable amount of protein, so no worries! It's easy for a woman to drop a lot of water weight right away, so I wouldn't be concerned.
So I am in bed for 7-10 days and tired in-between and not feeling much like eating or moving. Is there anyway to minimize muscle loss? I know it's not super paleo, but maybe supplementing with a shake of some kind? Or supplements? It's not easy... (more)

Yes, it's water weight from lower cabs. I can lose 8 lbs in a day shedding the water weight going from high carb to zero to low carb. It slows down after that depending on how aggressive you are being on your diet.

There are hundreds of scientific published reports over at leangains.com and Martin does a good job of summing them up and linking to them. Muscle is use it or lose it. If a person does not lift weights and is a carb burner and stops eating, the... (more)

I've just been put on Decapeptyl injections which means I will no longer make any sex hormones (oestrogen, progesterone and testosterone). This is very necessary medically and will hopefully sort out a long standing condition. However I am aware... (more)
Can you do bio-identical hormones instead? Checkout Sabre Labs in San Diego. I don't know what your condition is but if you can the more natural route than perhaps the side-effects will be greatly minimized.
