Downvotes? Anybody care to debate me on paper money? You guys think it's awesome and shit? Stabilizes the economy? Doesn't waste precious resources? Don't have to carry gold around? Anybody wanna make any of those idiotic points? Or did you downvote me because all I did was make an assertion and not actually back it up in any way whatsoever? Huh? HUH?

Word, Matthew, but a lot of the rocks from that time are under the ground. A REAL paleo/primal person would dig some up and put them in a safe deposit box. But wait, banks are soooooooooooooooo neo.

I would never get nit-picky about word etymology. Ever. Fuck words. They're not sacred to me. I was asking YOU how you were using that word. You can use it however you want as long as you can make it clear how you're using it. I was simply WONDERING what you meant!! ("in the means we use it" is sorta vague... so is "as we know it")

If you notice, I said "means we use it" and "as we know it". Of course you could get nit-picky about word etymology, but I don't think it's necessary. If you view a hide or tool of some sort as one in the same as the cash on the stock market, very well then.

What if they did indirect exchange with hide or something? Would that be a "currency"?

Um ... really?

Currency in the means we use it isn't paleo at all. The advent of agriculture was the impetus for currency as we know it. The only 'paleo' thing I can think of, that goes along this vein would be bartering- you give someone something they want, and you get something they have.
