[meta] Mobile PaleoHacks?

Answered on August 19, 2014

From what I understand PaleoHacks uses Stack Exchange 0.9, and is not in the Stack Exchange network, which leads me to believe it existed before Stack Exchange changed their policy: Changes to Stack Exchange.

My question is simply if mobile stack exchange is available somehow?

I did notice http://stackapps.com/ has anyone ever tried any of these? Though I assume they are tied to the Stack Exchange network so wont work with PaleoHacks?

I still think private messaging (among logged-in members) is a good idea. And I would love a mobile site. Search right now does not play well with 3 (or more) words, which can be frustrating.

If the platform would support it, I'd like to see weekly or monthly quick-hit surveys on breaking news--3 to 5 questions with radio buttons or check boxes. It would also be great to have a special status for the high-humor questions that seem to drown out sincere inquiries/answers at times. I love the humor but it is strange to see 30+ votes on jokes and 1 or 2 on articulate, serious answers.

So do I, but I don't think it's as nice as other sites I use that have been optimised for a small screen.

Getting paleohacks into the current stackexchange would give us the developed mobile version for free wouldn't it?

The option to be notified when someone comments on an answer that you have also commented on, or maybe just a watchlist in general for questions AND answers. A better organization of the user control panel (I find that whole click the email link to see one thing versus click your user name to see the other thing rather silly). Advanced search -- also making a special case to index /Vitamin\s[A-K]/ for searching (search doesn't seem to like single letters). Maybe private messaging as well, but that may have good reason for not existing. :)

Well it seems it needs to be "voted" into existence on the Stack Exchange network. The "Changes to Stack Exchange" link above explains the process. As I mentioned, I think PaleoHacks is possibly an old standalone installation, but I am not sure.

I don't understand why paleohacks is using the old stack exchange anyway. What would it take to upgrade it is the real question.

PaleoHacks is currently on SE 1.0. I have been pondering moving it to another platform. If I did, what would you like to see in terms of features?
