Does holding your pee in slow down metabolism?

Might be a weird question, but I was wondering if not letting yourself pee affects your metabolism. Like, maybe because the threshold or limit for pee and toxic products that our body expels in pee is full when we dont go to the toilet that our body kind of slows down processing our food and whatnot? Hope that makes sense, what I'm trying to say!

Those are metabolites not the drugs/toxins directly.

Also why there are pee tests for drug screenings.

Yes, toxins are excreted through urine. Want proof? Drink a meth addict's urine.

This is what my comments look like if I use my phone's speech to text to post on PH.

P.S. You would find the weirdest toxins in urine, even pesticides!! so don't hold it, your body is eliminating it for a reason! see this http://articles.mercola.com/sites/articles/archive/2012/10/23/glyphosate-found-in-human-urine.aspx?e_cid=20121023_DNL_art_1

What an aberration of advice, of course we excrete toxins in urine!!! in fact, if you hold it for long you reabsorb toxins and that can be quite harmful. Dehydration decreases growth hormone and fat burning. Our bodies are designed to naturally hold the pee when we run from the lion, but not when we are browsing the bushes! So no, don't hold it!

I know when you have to pee in the outdoors when it is very cold (for example, winter backpacking or mountaineering), it is better to pee, because otherwise your body wastes energy not just holding in the pee, but also maintain it at 98.6 degrees. So I don't know about it boosting or not boosting metabolism, but perhaps it burns more calories if you hold it in. At least in cold weather. (all of the above is guess and speculation - I have nothing to cite, other than my own cold weather experiences of seemingly staying warmer when I go ahead and pee).

Please don't hold your pee in. If it's uncomfortable, it's probably just stressing your body out.

Drinking your own urine makes brushing even more important.

Toxins aren't excreted in our urine, but through our bowels, skin, and breathe. Poop Master, This is why drinking your own urine is perfectly self. In fact uric acid and urea are very good for the body, being antioxidants and anticancer, amongst other effects.

Also the bladder and the kidneys are completely different. The kidneys filter the excess from the blood, of vitamin, minerals, proteins, hormones, etc, and then these are stored in the bladder until you urinate. If you 'told it in' and try not to urinate then this makes no difference to the kidneys and they will keep filtering the blood, this is why if you hold it in you will eventually wet yourself as urine will continue to be added to the bladder from the kidneys. What does effect the rate of filtration and the rate your bladder fills us is how much water you drink, mineral balances, hormones, etc.

At the very least, holding in pee would deter you from drinking more, and mild dehydration can affect metabolism.
