Can alternating between zero carb and high-carb mess up your metabolism?

is it ok to eat zero carb every other day and around 200g the rest of the time? or would that mess up the metabolism?

Robb Wolf talks about cyclic low carb. Here is an example of one of his podcasts where he discusses it:

I think the issue to look out for is that it takes time to switch between running your brain on carbs versus ketones, and so you may experience temporary "brain fog" if your body is expected one source, but it's not there. It shouldn't be anything deadly though, so try it out. If you feel and perform fine, then it should be fine.
