[meta] Second Chance Day: What is your most brilliant post that only received a score of +1 or worse?

Answered on September 12, 2014

Sometimes you think you've nailed it--an incisive question, a well-researched on-point answer, or a brilliant display of wit.

Then . . .

NOTHING -- a big fat zero

or you might limp in with +/- 1

Here's a chance to dazzle the PH community again to see if you get a better score the second time around. Give us your most underrated post, either question or answer (include a link for context). Good luck!

Paul, also, I want to emphasize your other great point about revising a question to "call it to our attention again." Whenever you edit a question or answer, it bumps the thread to the top of the "Recent Questions" list. This will lead to more people viewing your post.

Paul, your "Kurt Harris" remark makes a great point about marketing. In the best of all possible worlds, voting and pageviews would be based on content and relevance, not on snappy headlines and titillation. This community may be friendly, but it's still quite competitive, as lampooned in Aravind's "PaleoHacks Addict" thread: http://paleohacks.com/questions/53438/you-know-you-are-a-paleohacks-addict-when#axzz1XC4DadR8

I think the Loon could edit that question with a link to a good article or something, which would call it to our attention again and give people something to dig into. He could also put the words "Kurt Harris" in the title to get more views. That part was a joke -- but it is shocking that that post has only 37 views.

@ The Loon, while there are some cliques amongst P-Hackers, I don't share your cynical view of the community's voting patterns. You probably have some under-appreciated posts in your archives that you could use to answer the question. More exposure may lead to more upvotes. Here's a good one called "Soil and Health" that I just upvoted: http://paleohacks.com/questions/60071/soil-and-health#axzz1X66d484N

second chances would derive the same result. People mostly upvote their friends, and down-vote the people they usually disagree with.

Low food reward for me with three macronutrients would be: starch - plain white potatoes (not even salted), fat - coconut milk, protein - poached/steamed unseasoned chicken breast. My mouth dries up just thinking about it.

The deserted island macronutrients question is ahead of its time: low food reward!

Wait, a -1 counts as limping in? I always thought a -1 was a real ouchie. Great idea for a question, by the way.

I was quite pleased with myself when I answered this question from Stephen-Aegis:

Uric Acid Level testing/Fructose Damage,

but despite having no other answers to consider, the voters were underwhelmed.

How about:

Trans fat v. stubborn body fat

This one may not qualify since I'm not looking for a better score, but rather, a more detailed response to my specific question. The two responses I got - while good - did not really address the actual biochemistry of trans fat storage in the body, which is what I was hoping for.

Thanks for the second chance! :)
