[meta] Is there a way to undo a downvote without casting an upvote?

I recently, in a fit of reactionary emotion, downvoted an answer. I immediately thought better of it, and wanted to put it back to how it was. I was left with the choice of upvoting or downvoting, so I chose the former, since I thought it was more ethical. Still, I was a bit annoyed. I guess I've learned my lesson!

ETA: wait-a-sec! It just occurred to me that maybe someone upvoted at the same time as I downvoted, so it only looked like this happened. If so, sorry about the confusion! Can anyone verify?
