Local Meetup Groups...

Nobody I know in person is paleo. Some of them eat healthy, CW diets and most of them eat SAD. All this makes ME sad... I'm tired of preaching. Can't we just get together and have a paleo potluck or something?

Anybody know of any central authority that might help arrange such things? Is there a good social networking service that facilitates this? Has anyone else gotten in touch with a bunch of local paleos? HOW DID YOU DO IT?

I've never been seriously involved with a forum before. Now I've come to appreciate you guys so much that even on non-paleo matters, I often find myself wanting to come discuss it here. We're just a different kind of people. I click better with most paleos. I hope we can all find ways to meet locally with one another, wherever we live.

So, this isn't just about me but I recently moved to the South OC (People from Southern California will probably know what I mean) and I'm sure there are a ton of paleo people out here. It's not just about eating together, I think people who are open to the paleo diet and lifestyle are a whole breed of human. We see the world with clarity, we don't follow blindly but ask for evidence and test things on ourselves. We are rebels and gastronomers. I'd just like to see who else is out there with the right kind of mindset to reject the mainstream and eat what we're meant to eat. Maybe we have other things in common.

Do I sound lonely? People can be alone in a crowded room, even with others they know and love. I have my friends and family, but partaking in this forum has opened my mind.

Isn't that a site to find hookups? I'm not interested in STD's...

I had considered signing up with that site and looking into their paleo meetups but it took you posting a link for me to actually go and do it. This could actually do the trick!

people don't search for paleo in general, but when they're on there, they look at different sections. i posted under the activities/groups section because people usually want to make friends there. you might be surprised at the number of replies you get.

You know that's worth a shot, though it's hard to imagine anyone doing a search for paleo on craigslist...
