So i headed to the market after finishing work late and most of the stalls were shutting down. I had to buy my fish (frozen :( ) and veg from the supermarket but the guy i usually buy my eggs and chicken in bulk from was still open. I picked up some gammon and bacon from him and didn't realize until i got home that it had all been smoked.
I've read bits about smoked meats and nitrates but maybe i should have researched a bit more, as to how bad it can be/how often should we eat it? Should it be classed as a treat? Will the paleo gods come down and smite me for my ignorance or should i just chill and enjoy? What's your feelings towards smoked meats? (I usually keep it fresh and local).
Sidenote: The bacon tastes delicious :D
