Why can't I eat ground Beef? Help please!

Hi! I'm on all all-meat-diet atm to see if this works better for my IBS. So far, so good. I'm the third day in and had ground beef today - instant diarrhea! This always happens with ground beef, steaks and all other kinds of meat are okay. I usually eat quite fat-rich so this shouldn't be the problem either. What is it? :/

It is always cooked well, but the problem occurs in general with ground beef..

Never eat ground meat without cooking it well. Almost always contaminated with e.coli throughout.

Are you eating it undercooked? If so, it's probably bacteria. Have you tried a different brand of ground beef?

Bacteria can only live on the surface of meats, but when you grind meat, the very first sample that's infected will spread to the grinder itself, and then infect every bit of meat passing through. Ground meat has several orders of magnitude more surface than a steak, and most of it on the inside of the burger will not get hot enough to kill the bacteria, so you'd get food poisoning from it.

A steak gets seared on both sides, so any bacteria living there die off. Rare stake is fairly safe. Rare ground meat is not.

Also check into if you have a histamine problem - histamine can be really bad in ground meat. Be very careful with the source you get your meat from, the way you prepare and cook it, and the way you store it. Histamine intolerance definitely has diarrhea as a symptom.
