hello, everyone, hope someone can point me to a right direction. i live in SF (the mission) and buy all my meat via co-ops, butcher shops, or online - everything grass fed/pasture raised etc. but it's not enough.
problem 1 is that so much of the animals are not available to me for purchase: eyes, brains, oysters, glands, organs, etc
problem 2 is that there are too many "gatekeepers" between me and my food!
so i need some help getting closer to my food sources. i dont have a car, but i am pretty capable of figuring things out. i would love to hunt and butcher my own food, but without a car, i don't know how possible that is. as a next step though, i feel at least it would be better to be able to eat ALL of my food, buy some smaller ruminant animals like lambs/goats in a herdshare and actually get everything, use everything, etc. (smaller is better because of the ratio of non-muscle meats to muscle meats)
can anyone help me out? thank you everyone!

Come down to Pescadero. Lots of farms down there. I'd rent a zip car and make a day of talking to the actual producers.
