Ostrich Meat as a meat choice

Where does ostrich meat fall into the good, better, best meat choices?

I wish I knew what they were fed.....at the conservation Center that I work at, they are fed with a type of grass/alphafa pellet. Unfortunately, they are off-limits!

good question, as i am enjoying a 250g ostrich steak almost daily as well. yummy! all i know that it says "origin: south africa" on the label, but nothing on how they get fed.

It's very lean, so if you do enjoy it... add some fat.

It's ok....but has a higher omega six content. Better than most fowl however. It tastes just likes good lean filet. I add butter garlic sauce tO it

It is delicious as a steak served rare, if that's what you're asking.

any animal that is not fed corn-soybean meal at anytime leans towards better or best.
