Inexpensive good meats in nyc?

Hi Everyone, I'm in my first paleo week, I actually arrived at the idea of the paleo diet from just trial and error and lots of research, then I found out it was already a thing! So I'm really excited :) Does anyone in the NYC area have a great meat place that is not too expensive? I'm on an EXTREMELY tight budget and the farmer's market meats are just too much money. I currently just eat conventional meats, but I know that's not great. I would love to get higher quality but grocery stores in my area (Brooklyn) don't have them, and Whole Foods is just so much money. Anyone have a good spot? Thanks!!!

I also had never considered buying meat online, do you have a recommendation? That might be the best option for me since my apartment family is fairly communal :)

Where in Brooklyn are you? If you have some extra time, you can join the food coops and get some good meat (Park Sope is the biggest, then Greene Hill and Bushwick).

Brooklyn Fare in downtown Brooklyn often has sales on grass fed meat, and has some inexpensive options.

Or, you can go with the online buying in bulk from upstate, which is where I get most of my meat.

I live in Williamsburg, and there is an awesome butcher called the Meat Hook on Frost St. that has all grass fed everything! They also sell some pretty great fermented products and bone broth.

Join the Green Hill Coop! I've heard Park Slope is wayyyyy intense. Jon Stewart did a bit on some crazy vote they had. Green Hill is chill and adorable. Last week I got amazing brussels sprouts and chestnuts. They also have two big freezers with meat in the back. And you only have to work 2 hours/month. I'm working tonight. You should totally check it out.

I don't know how tight your budget is, but this website offers grass-fed meat to pretty good prices. http://www.meadowraisedmeats.com/meadowshop.php Although I have no experience with them.
