Do you have links to articles that show studies on meat eaters have been done on those who eat factory farmed meat?

I'm working on an article and would like to be able to cite that sources that say meat eaters are less healthy than those who are veg*n are really looking at factory-farmed meat eaters. I'm talking about the studies that say meat causes heart disease, cancer, obesity, and so forth.

Links to the studies or articles about them would be greatly appreciated.

I don't really think factory farming is the issue with those studies. I think it's because people who are health-conscious are avoiding meat, and the other factors in their lifestyles are compensating.

You won't find what you're looking for exactly, but Denise Mingers AHS talk covers the faulty science regarding meat consumption v. vegetarianism.

You should be able to find it on Vimeo.

I would wager all of the studies are done with people who eat factory farmed meat. Those who seek out the grass fed stuff are deeply in the minority.

The studies that demonize meat are based on factory meat, but because there are so many confounding variables (all the other crap the same people eat), they are worthless and prove nothing. The study needed is the one that compares paleos/LC on factory meat vs. paleos/LC on grain-fed meat. And that will never be performed unless some wealthy paleo decides to fund it himself.

Check out pubmed.com it is a "research" website sponsored by NIH (national institute of health). I'm sure you will find some studies you can use there. Most of the research is funded by the heart association, cancer association, and pharmaceutical industry.
