Is one meal per day OK, if it works for me, and are there long term effects?

So, I recently posted about some recent weight gain (132 to 150 lbs)

Well, this week I went back to my typical eating style. I ate paleo foods, but at only 1 meal per day, typically right before bed.

Although everything I've read states this is not ideal, my weight is once again dropping down to normal (at 145 now). I also have ADD and I feel 1 meal/day keeps me clear headed throughout the day, as I remain in a fasted state. I only drink tea all day.

Are there any long term issues? Do I just need to learn to eat smaller portions all day?

I'm worried because every bit of material says eating 1 meal/day is bad (for metabolism, weight loss, etc), but I feel great doing it.

Is breakfast/lunch truly that important?

I eat an excess of calories and get too hungry too quickly during the day once I start eating, as I have never eaten during the day. I'm a 21 y/o female.

Thanks all for your help!

Ok great! That's awesome advice. It's true. I eat a TON at every sitting, and feel ravenously hungry if I eat earlier!

Go over to leangains.com and read about Intermittent fasting. Other kinds can be read about on marksdailyapple as well and there are tons of fasting resources.

It's perfectly fine as long as you understand that you need to intake all of your daily caloric needs in the one meal.

I love eating 1-2x daily because it's much easier to count calories, feel fuller, and lose weight.

Just be sure to change it up every one or two weeks.

Look up the warrior diet. There's lot of benefits to eating once a day. I eat during a 4 hour window every day, it makes me feel great.

i don't think it's a big deal. i eat twice a day and have never been a snacker. both my meals are huge though so i get a lot of calories at each sitting. as long as you are getting a good amount of calories at night, keep doing it. it seems your body likes it.
