Quilt, would this benefit folks with MD type neuro degenerative disorders? Or are you just referring to things like dementia, Alzheimers, etc? I've got a loved one with spinal muscular atrophy to feed...Alas, that's a rotten genetic draw and I'm not sure I can do much food-wise.

I use CO in my Optimal coffee, and in my paleo bark, and in ketogenic diet plans for neuro degenerative disorders.

I also have been know to add it all soups, stews and sauces I make. I post tons of pics of how I cook on my FB wall with CO.

I add MCT oil to shakes.
Coconut oil has a broader range of fatty acids, but the taste is not to my liking. Whereas MCT oil has no taste.
MCT oil also stays liquid when cold, which makes it ideal for adding to shakes.

The usual natural sources of medium-chain triglycerides (MCTs) are coconut oil and butter, which you can eat raw or use in cooking.

You can also buy them in a more refined form.

I sometimes add a bit of MCT oil to coffee with cream or butter (and use a frother to mix it), or to salad dressing or mayo-based salads like tuna.

Haven't done it much lately but it was a staple when I was VLC for a while.

I use it in salad dressings 1/2 and 1/2 with olive oil. But due to unpredictable digestion, when my bottle is empty I'll probably not buy more.

I cook (and moisturize) with coconut oil and I eat coconut butter occasionally.
