Mark Sisson Questions
I take quite a few supplements, and I was just looking at Sisson's consolidated formulas. Obviously I'm not just going to take the salesman's word. I'm looking for third party feedback. That means, if you've actually tried these products, please... (more)
Grok [grok] "Do you feel like nobody groks you? Don't worry, Robert A. Heinlein does. In his 1961 best-selling science fiction novel,??Stranger in a Strange Land, Heinlein coined the term to mean an understanding so thorough that "the observer... (more)
Has anyone tried Mark Sisson's Primal Flora or any of his other products? If so, would you recommend them? They're a little pricy so I'm curious if they're worth the "mulah". Thanks Guys!
I've taken Primal Flora for about six months now. Most of my digestive issues seem to be resolved. I also take an digestive enzyme, so it is hard to say what has really done the trick.
In Good Calories, Bad Calories and The Primal Blueprint, both authors state that it is impossible to gain weight without carbohydrates because insulin is required. Sorry, I don't have the references at hand. I'm so much healthier eating paleo,... (more)
I have no idea what Sisson says in PB, but I haven't read on MDA or seen him say in any interviews I've watched/listened-to where he claims fat consumption has no impact on body weight. Gary Taubes, on the other hand, has said it point blank:... (more)
I'm listening to a great podcast of an interview of Mark. I know he's big in the primal scene but I just find it funny that he promotes a primal lifestyle but his blog is steeped with "meal replacement" powder and his own line of "protein powder".... (more)
I am not sure if this has been addressed directly, but if going low carb throughout the day (say 75g or less) and I exercise between 30-45 minutes, primarily for fat loss, with resistance 2-3 days, and general cardio or HIIT on 2-3 other days, is... (more)
EDIT Paleohacks is now ranked #8,805, placing it ahead of even selected niche porn sites! The highest ranked paleo site I could find is Mark's Daily Apple, at #2,552. Robbwolf.com is #10,257. Freetheanimal.com is #20,680. 30bananasaday.com is... (more)
I'm following Mark Sisson's Primal Blueprint and Dr. Jack Kruse's Leptin reset protocol. I supplement D, Magnesium, fish oil, krill oil, cod liver oil, turmeric, cinnamon, ginger, zinc, Vitamin C, etc. I meditate daily, and do some yoga. I am... (more)
Eat (non-pasteurized) fermented foods, like sauerkraut. You may want to look into making your own so you get all the good bacteria. Or take probiotics. Gut health is absolutely vital.
Has a Paleo guru ever given you advise that you ended up following and eventually came to the conclusion that in the end it was bad advice?
I never asked a paleo guru for advice. I doubt many have. EDIT: It's been called to my attention that I'm getting a little snarky 'round here. Mea culpa, I'll tone it down! I think that I do not like the notion of "paleo gurus,"--but that's my... (more)
Evening, My flatemate's girlfriend who now lives with us has over the last year become more and more vegetarian. My flatmate says that he is starting to feel the pressure, and is not particularly happy because he feels his single pork chop is... (more)

I don't think of it as "salad" as much as a few raw greens sitting between my meat and my plate.
Do you have a complaint about something paleo-related? I sure do. Spew it out--but if you're going to spew, spew into this! (thanks Garth) Whole Foods- I used to shop at the discount-iest of the discount grocery stores before paleo. Now I shop... (more)
I don't currently own any food or diet books, but I have been thinking of purchasing The Primal Blueprint. I have a 4th generation Kindle and it is obviously easiest and cheaper for me to just download the book to it, instead of ordering off... (more)
Damage Control is extremely expensive. I'd rather not pay that. But I saw the advanced health formula, and noticed that it would make supplementation cheaper (and much easier) for me. The doses for each mineral and vitamin is pretty much what I... (more)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DSJPSy1edgA I would trade a lot of things to spend a day with Mark, I'm sure I'm not the only one. Have you seen this yet? Have you shared it? What did you think? (more)
I think a lot of the people (especially those who keep asking, "Is X food paleo?") will find this summary of Chris Kresser's "Paleo Framework" very helpful. He surveys the differences among and between various paleo food strategies, but says... (more)
