extreme nerve pain

long story short i hurt my brachial plexus during the midst of a magnesium deficiency. i was suffering pain for month after month and finally in june, nine months after going to about 10 different doctors, they tested my magnesium and it was a .5 (1.5-2.5)

i am going gluten free. i still eat dairy bc i am extremely underweight.

does anyone know here how long it would take to recover from such low mag levels? ive been supplementing since july and while i am better, i still have intense neck pain.

fwiw, mri/emgs are normal

oh and to make matters worse, i have a connective tissue disorder, eds. ive had all kinds of body work done, now im trying to strengthen my shoulders with PT.

my ft4 and tsh levels are normal but my ft3 and rt3 ratio is terrible, a 10. so this does apply, also despite being thin, i am having blood sugar issues.

no i have not! "A novel therapeutic strategy for Ehlers-Danlos syndrome based on nutritional supplements." sounds like it! thanks. i have noticed a huge deterioration in the last few years and i know a part of it has to do with diet.

currently i'm using mag oil all over my neck and taking 400 mg of glycinate. sometimes i take a teaspoon of liquid magnesium, magonate. in the past ive taken 800-1000 mg but it felt like i overedosed a bit? my blood pressure is already very low and i believe it got too low.

This is not ideally suited to your issue but a lot of it is. You may find it helpful.

Not a specific answer to your question, but (if you have classic type EDS) have you see the Mantle/Wilkins/Preedy 2005 article outlining their suggestions for specifically nutritional therapy (which included magnesium)?
