I was there in the same place once. Looking back I think the advice I would give, if you were serious about going paleo, is to go slowly. Make the changes to diet slowly. Check out the feedback your body will give you.

I believe it is because carbs raise your insulin levels which promotes fat storage. Thus if you don't have much fat in your blood, it cannot be stored in fat cells.

If you don't feel that a particular person has legitimate credentials, don't buy their book. If I don't find various herbivorous cults to be appealing, I won't join them. Easy peasy.
