why does my blood sugar rise to 150 after a meal of protein, fat and veggies?

is it normal for my blood glucose to rise to 150 after a meal only of protein, fat and veggies? I???m not eating VLC, I eat veggies, one/two servings of fruit and one sweet potato. Should I be concerned? Why does this happen? I though this "physiological insulin resistance" only happened to those who do VLC and have high fasting blood sugar. My fasting blood sugar is always 70.

BG of 150 post meal does not mean diabetes. 1 hour post? Normal. 2 hours post? Elevated. 3+ hours post? Problem.

Even if it isn't, why would you want it to get that high though? When I eat low carb I never once see it get above 110 even when I stuff my face full of food. Ultimately we all have free will and I respect your decision to eat a lot of starch, but doesn't it seem less than optimal to do that kind of routine damage to your body? Just curious.

I doubt it's regular insulin resistance. For 3 days I increased my carbs, eating more sweet potatoes and rice and my blood sugar was always 120 or 140 1h after eating. I had normal glucose control. I at high protein at breakfast (eggs and fish or meat) and at lunch and dinner I eat palm-sized portion.

Blood glucose spikes are normal after eating.

You don't eat low-carb so you don't have physiological insulin resistance, you have regular insulin resistance (the bad one). Might want to start by cutting out that sweet potato. How much protein do you eat?
