"Conclusions Low carbohydrate-high protein diets, used on a regular basis and without consideration of the nature of carbohydrates or the source of proteins, are associated with increased risk of cardiovascular disease."

Keep telling yourself it's 'safe'. You might just convince yourself before your massive heart attack comes.

There's a big diffference between deep fried chicken fingers and a nice grass fed steak, but they are both "meat" on a FFQ. By the way, butter and margarine was one category. As if those are equivalent!

Let's see here, it says "without consideration of the nature of carbohydrates or the source of proteins". One of the precepts of the paleo diet is that those sources are very carefully considered and gleaned from the highest quality source that can be found whenever possible. And as has already been stated, Paleo does not equal low carb. But thank you for displaying your ignorance. Now I'll go back to living my life the way I choose.

Why are any of you even giving this guy the time of day?

Not. Worth. It.

Similar studies showed no association between low carb and heart disease.

Food frequency questionaires are notoriously unreliable.

Epidemiology never shows cause and effect.

Food quality matters.

Paleo is not, by definition, low carb.

I consider the nature of carbohydrates and the source of protein, so I should be fine right?
