I am going to maintain both diets as best as possible but GAPS (gut and psychology syndrome) is pretty much paleo until you can eat dairy. It is very intensive. I had tried the Specific Carbohydrate Diet, http://www.breakingtheviciouscycle.info/index.htm but I needed something more. Here is the link for GAPS: http://gapsdiet.com/ I am so glad that we both have loved ones who are so understanding. If you need any recipes or substitutes let me know I have a boatload from pancakes to pot roast. I know how hard it can be to get up the paleo mountain and yummy replacements always help.

Awesome!...My wife is close to Paleo about 90% Paleo/20%..non-Paleo... Regardless I'm happy she's happy I'm helping her transition little things to help. For example: I switched her over to coconut creamer with coffee also grain crackers to gluten freesesame crackers. What is the GAPS diet? any links? are you going to be on both diets?

I am mostly 100% primal paleo, only I do eat some dairy. I really need the extra fat especially at those sensitive times of the month. But in January I am looking to start the GAPS diet to seal and heal my gut so dairy will be off for a few months. I think primal paleo is wonderful when your fully healed. For example because of candida and such I cannot have sweet potatoes, parsnips, turnips any fresh cheese or raw dairy and I have to be careful with coconut milk because of guar gum. Now if only I can get the husband fully on-board, even though luckily enough he isn't picky and loves liver.

I was going to start crossfit but I realized how bad my adrenals and thyroid are, so I am on low intensity activities. 2 hour walks, swimming and such. The husband doesn't do much exercise but thanks to diet he is losing weight he needs to loose. Are you 100% paleo/primal?

Born in Hialeah and spent my teenage years in Martin County (Palm City). Went to IRCC for my first year of college before heading to Gainesville (SFCC & UF).

My parents still live in Palm City, so my wife and I visit frequently.

I grew up in Okeechobee, spent a lot of time on the Treasure Coast, and went to Indian River State College (back when it was IRCC) and then FSU for a while. I haven't been home since 1996, though.

I actually miss the lake and the swamp more than the beach.
