LIBIDO TALK TIME.

Recently I've noticed a spike in my libido (two months paleo), which is interesting because my nutritionist had told me that the birth control pill lowers your libido; I've been on the pill for over a year, and it has DEFINITELY increased within the last week or so. I'll sum it up to the grace of the caveman, but how about you?

How do you eat that much fat? I mean, like for example what's in your daily menu?

You have to construct the carb intake to based on your metabolism, but fat intake is often the reason most people burn out and fail on paleo/keto diets. When most people switch to a Paleo diet their sat. fat intake goes up (which is a good thing if carbs are restricted). For many people who have functional issues with steroid hormones due to a dietary deficiency of hormone building blocks, they can see some normalization in hormone levels. Excuse the run on ;)

Ketosis does work good for my brain too, but all the rest fails due to the low amount of carbs. What kind of steroid hormones shift are we talking about, DrRao?

When I went to 70% fat, oh yeah baby. :) YMMV.

One of the biggest changes that can happen over time with a well constructed Paleo diet (focus on fats) is a shift in steroid (progesterone, estrogen, cortisol, dhea, etc) hormones (which require a cholesterol backbone often deficient in SAD diets). This shift, along with the fact that you're finally putting the right fuel in the engine can account for much of the positive change in sex drive. Being in a state of ketosis has a dramatic effect on mental clarity as well, perhaps your brain is clear on what it wants ;)

Ketosis def boosts it some for me as well. But, in general, when I went paleo it increased a fair amount. Lose all the crap from the diet and you feel great. And what better way to feel even better than to get a little late night exercise?

for me it went through the roof the first 4-5 months! now it's "normal" but I'm a guy. :) there's also a phsychological element to it as if you're a bit vein, it can play into that (in a good way).

Paleo is sexy!

Mine hasn't changed much, but my husband who has tested low for testosterone has noticed a dramatic increase. Especially after eating.
