are "Saviseed"/"Inca peanuts" paleo friendly?

My boss brought me in some seeds to try. They are called Saviseeds. The taste is initially peanut but quickly turns to buttery rich deliciousness. The package claims that one 5oz serving has 6000mg of omega 3, is super high in fibre and high in protien. I worry that they are known as Inca peanuts,and so this means its a legume and so to be avoided? :(

I think they taste too good to be true...What do you think?!

I try to eat as local and seasonal as possible now, but this would be great for my mother! She eats high-starch low-fat and I'm trying to get her to eat more and more healthy fats. Thanks a lot for posting about it, I see it's available at iHerb.

Never heard of them! I shall try to search some out - but here in the UK it might be a problem...

I hate to be a Debbie Downer, 'cuz these look like a lot of fun, but...

The omega-3 is linolenic acid which makes it about as useless as flax oil. Plus it has a good amout of n6 - nearly as much as the n3. So, enjoy sparingly, like other nuts. Anyone who is trying to put a beat down on inflammation (like myself) should probably just avoid.

from reading more in their website (and just being a fan of sequel naturals) i find that they fall in the paleo category of seeds. i wouldn't recommend eating a bag every day (b/c of the sugar) but they sure make a nice treat!!

They seem to be a different family to peanuts and grow above ground unlike legumes.
