I've been paleo for a couple of years now, mainly for medical reasons and I've been toying with If for a while now too, but I'm ready to start sticking to strict macros. Will there be an adjustment period that I need to see through before I start to see physical results? Might there even be fat gains while my body adjusts to lots of carbs again?
I'm a shift worker and I'm able to stick to a regular eating window all the time except for night shifts that I do three or four of at a time, once a month. I naturally need to change my eating window and sleep pattern. Has anyone else managed to make Leangains work for them whilst doing shift work? Does anyone have any advice on what changing my eating window will do? Or how to do it?

DO NOT IF. The last thing you want to do with irregular sleep and cortisol patterns is add more stress (fasting) to the mix. There will absolutely be fat gains regardless of what you are eating because your cortisol will be chronically high. I don't know how long you've been "toying with IF" and what your results have been, but it just seems like a recipe for disaster coupled with shift work. Get on a simple carb cycling plan and please don't fast. And about fat gain with higher carbs. I was in and out of ketosis for months and struggling to lose fat. The week I added carbs into the mix everyday I could suddenly see my abs clearly in the morning. Provided you keep the carbs clean and keep the majority to immediately pre and post workout, you won't get fat from adding more carbs.
