Lard and FFA ratios

Hi all. I am wondering if the ~10% PUFA content of Lard/Pork fat is really a concern inflammation-wise? Assume the beast was raised in the most wretched conditions and that it was stuffed with grain and soy...does it amount to a dietary concern if the predominance of FFAs in the diet come from SATs and MUFAs as well as healthier sources?

Why would you consider eating an animal raised in a horrific way, patronizing the criminals who raised it?

I have been throwing in the daily 'dose' of cod liver oil for vit.D but would pefer some sun...accursed Northern climate has me getting hypertense over PUFAs!

That doesn't sound worrisome to me, especially if you're avoiding vegetable oils and nuts too.

Thanks foer the advice Mari. What would you say about pig organs? I am having 7 oz. per day of a combination of liver and kidney and I am also consuming 1-2 oz. of pig skin per day for a gelatin source. Does this sound like a hazard?

It depends on how much of it you're going to eat. I would suggest plugging it into a food tracker and seeing how much n-6 it totals along with the rest of your food. It would probably be good to keep it under 10 grams, and lower if possible. If the rest of your diet is low in n6, lard can probably fit in in moderation.
