Is it possible to get rid of Lactose Intolerance?

Lactose Intolerance is tough to diagnose. Some may have other problems which may be confused with lactose intolerance; like i.e. IBS och gluten allergy.

But can someone who seems to have problem with lactose get better from abstaining from lactose and later introducing it slowly? Or by changing the intestinal flora of bacteria?

It is possible, I'm not sure how one would go about though. My brother was lactose intolerant for most of his childhood, but as soon as he tasted cheese, he refused to give it up. About a year later, he stopped having problems with all dairy.

In this conference filmed on Youtube there is a lot of interesting information! The video is narrated in writing if one prefer that instead. I was suspicious to the title: The White Stuff. But it wasn't the substance I thought they referred to ;) Check it out and let me hear what your thoughts are.

I have no medical basis for this contribution, but my husband and his mother are lactose intolerant. They claim that if they have lactose on a daily basis, they eventually are fine, but if they avoid it and then have something like a glass of milk all of the sudden, it'll "clear them out".

Anecdotally, I know people who have. I don’t have the details on how it was accomplished.
