Quilt - diet/supps for neurogenesis?

Quilt, I think I saw snippets of advice on this buried in previous posts. But what all round foods and supplements do you think would aid neurogenesis - new brain cell growth? (outside of cold water baths... :)

Why was this old question edited? And why does the Quilt sound like Ray Peat?

Just guessing: BDNF = brain derived nerve factor, NFS = nerve growth factor, apparently hormones or enzymes related to neurogenesis. E2, I wonder if it is related to estrogen...

What is E2? (And BDNF, NGF).

I am surprised 2 people managed to up-vote you despite a near trollish response. I suspect you either have a fan club or puppet accounts. More power to ya.

Interesting, just as I posted the quetion I was just reading a bunch up on prenenolone and read of its neuroprotective effects. I looked it up again because oddly I remembered I had my best results strength training the month I took pregnenolone.

Thanks for the response, but a generic description of what Quilt advocates does little to answer my specific question. Even though I directed the question to him, please feel free to speak to my specific question... if you are familiar with the subject... thanks again.

Anything that increase progesterone is best and lowers E2 levels. Most modern humans are E2 collectors. In fact most of my younger paleo's have turned up with this issue. Its pretty common. When you increase progesterone This increases BDNF and NGF. Micronized pregnenolone is good in a lipid matrix. BDNF and NGF both stimulate brain/nerve growth. Optimizing diurnal cortisol is also a key. if diurnal cortisol is up you need circadian tune up......because that tells you you have a brain cortisol issue and not an adrenal one. If sleep is also bad you may have brain and adrenal issue.......then you are worried about symp. nerv overdrive. Very common in young paleo's because of technology. this destroys autophagy and sleep.

You need CO to uncouple brain metabolism and bur efficiently. Fastest way to accomplis it is my CT protocol. I use this on my neurodenegerative patients and all TBI patients too......

Dr. Quilt advocates a low-carb ketogenic paleo diet full of seafood. Carbs are eaten only in the summer. As for supplements, there is one list for when doing the leptin reset, and another for people post HCG, and yet another for others post-leptin reset. He's fond of turmeric, resveratrol, Argentine malbec, and coconut oil. He recommends Robb Wolf, Mark Sisson and the newer version of Loren Cordain's diet.
