Is anyone trying the Quilt's Cold Thermogenesis protocol? Any results so far? Positive or negative? If not, why? It uses the Paleo template we all know ,love and practice and it costs less than 10 cents to become an expert at (if it works!).

It's funny, but it's because of my lifetime of hatred for the cold that I am drawn to his protocol. I've tried some wimpy Theraflex gel packs and bare-chested pre- dawn walks/bikes (in Florida, big deal -62 degrees) and can't wait to face the actual ice bath when I "grow up" Sort of a like a "Cold Water Mar Mitzvah" at age 56. I hope to convince myself it won't be a 56 year old "low temperature circumcision" :)

I found that the response to the two or three "quilt"CT threads and the one Ray Cronise CT thread was really spotty here on PH considering the outrageous claims the Quilt is making was really weak. It's almost like there is a taboo to admitting that anyonw would try it.

adaptation is the process of de-wussing.

Some people weighed in on the entire "holy trinity" here: http://paleohacks.com/questions/100894/are-you-open-to-kruses-holy-trinity#axzz1pE7Sny8w;

I've sort of been going in this direction already over the past year in small ways, but I've now been implementing more tweaks in my life based on his series, and its been very very interesting. Still too early to write much definitively about the effects (must rule out coincidences and placebo effects). I also need to work out the logistics on setting up things in my environment to go further in; at least by this point I know enough to know the hypotheses are worthy of reasonable attempts to falsify them to one's own satisfaction, to the fullest extent one is able to go. Very little to lose, that's for sure.

I'm not trying it because 1) I'm making progress without it and 2) I'm a wuss. Ice baths do not sound like my idea of a good time! But should I stall, who knows?
