OK so I have literally been shedding pounds while on a calorie surplus...I am in ketosis (have had net carbs below 50g for the last couple weeks) and have 3-4 tbspns of MCT Oil daily (added this week). I keep trying to add calories to maybe add some weight, but it seems like I'm shedding fat.
Ratio has been about 70/20/10 fat/protein/carb (sometimes less carb, more fat). Im having about 3200 calories (5'11", 178 lbs, gym 3-4x/week on top of being active). I feel like it's the MCT Oil that has made the biggest change as I just added it in recently.
Has anyone else had this experience?? It's kind of awesome but I'm sort of in shock.

I have a massive bottle of MCT in the fridge and it is basically Ketosis in a bottle for me, it was hard on my stomach in the begining but that went away after the first week.
If you are looking to stradle the line of having some carb backloading at night and still be in a ketosis during most of the day, this has been a good way for me to lean out.

The most accurate answer to this question should always start with, "everyone is different". That being said, MTC alone should not kick you out of ketosis, actually some think it might help keep you there. For a complete paleo with that ratio and those amount of calories is a bit abnormal, but it is not impossible that you are still shedding especially if you are doing weight training and light cardio.
Are you taking any supplements and/or anything else like creatine?
