lack of appetite

Since Friday, my appetite has completely disappeared. Food just seems revolting and I can't make myself eat it, even though I'm very hungry. I'm eating a ton of fat (about 80/20), though I'm eating very little carb (I'm eating only animal products) so maybe this is ketosis related? Other than being hungry (and the anxiety, tension, and irritability that accompany that), I feel fine. I just turn into a b-word when I'm hungry so I'd really like to remedy this. Basically what I'm asking is:

What do you think is causing this? How long do you think it will last? And is there anything I can do about it?

I can elaborate if you need more info. Thanks!

ETA: I've been doing the all animal products (meat, seafood, eggs, butter, and cream) thing for two weeks. Before that, I was basically eating the same thing just with the addition of non-starchy veggies (like VLC). I had done this VLC diet since May. I decided to try going without the veggies and I've felt a lot better without them (the fiber gets to me).

I should also add that I have a chronic binge-eating problem (that I seem to finally have under control now, thank goodness) that disrupted any chance of getting into ketosis when I was VLC. I've now gone nearly two weeks without bingeing though (two weeks on Friday).

So probably you were already in ketosis before this, then, right? In that case, just ease up on the fat a little, and it should resolve.

Alright I'll try that. I got rid of the cream today anyway, since it was triggering binges. Sashimi for dinner!

I don't doubt that there's nothing wrong with eating some carbs, it's just that carbs don't work for me. I function much better without them. I'm positive I'm not sick. I have no other symptoms besides the lack of appetite.

you need more protein. tasty tasty meat.

I went too high in fat, didnt feel good, upped protein, went back to superman.

A good Sashimi stint or a couple steaks will fix you right up.

If you want to stay on only animal products, (which I think everyone should try, because otherwise you won't believe how good it feels, at least for some of us), just go a little lower fat. I've been eating meat only (with a short dairy stint) for 10 months, and I'll still get nauseated and lose my appetite if I go too high in fat.

Some people do experience insomnia or anxiety when adapting to ketosis, so it might not just be hunger, and it should subside.

Can you elaborate on how long you've eaten only animal, and what your diet was before that?

I let hunger tell me when to eat. If you say that you are "very hungry," and you've - I'm guessing - eaten very little since Friday, its time to eat! Maybe cut back a little on the fat, and up the carbs a little? There's nothing wrong with eating carbs, as long as its done in moderation, and they come from healthy, whole sources: fruits, veggies, etc.

I know that a Paleo diet restricts my appetite, but I've never felt that food seemed "revolting." Are you sure that you're not sick?
