Ketosis hell, help me!

Okay I need help. I'm trying to shed some unwanted fat and maintain as much muscle possible. A friend mentioned ketosis. So I started. I weigh 180ibs and I'm 5"8 and about 23% body fat. I'm on day 3. And I feel like death. Dizzy, groggy, weak, foggy, my workout made me light headed and I'm so fatigued. In the past 3 days I've kept it under around 30 grams of carbs and around 160 grams of fat. Is what I'm experiencing normal? Any suggestions?

yeah, the food is not a good recommendation but the information on ketosis is great.

There is some useful information at that site but I think everyone should stay skeptical about some of the recommendations on specific foods.

No, you don't, but being in ketosis is better than not being in ketosis for weight loss.

You don't have to be in ketosis all the time to lose body fat. Read The Primal Blueprint by Mark Sisson.

Yes, that's very normal. You have to give it more time to adapt. Besides that, based on your symptoms, you most likely need to add more sodium to your food, in the range of 2-5g/day.

It would also be helpful to know your protein intake. You can't eat too much protein as that will trigger gluconeogenesis which will inhibit ketosis. 160g of fat seems a little low for someone of your size. Without knowing your protein intake though, I would guess you need to lower that and increase the fat.

It will take you some weeks to adapt but the best thing you can do right now is to read The Art and Science of Low Carbohydrate Living and The Art and Science of Low Carbohydrate Living by Volek & Phinney. After you've read those everything will make a lot more sense to you as they explain why you need to pay close attention to certain things.

Why don't you intermittent fast? You'll be in ketosis for about 15 hours per day without the trouble of calculating macros. Plus, you can still eat your carbs.
