Ketosis and Psychic Ability?

Asked on May 03, 2018

I was wondering if anyone had seen an increase in their general psychic ability while in an ongoing ketogenic state. This is not something I have experienced yet (but I have been a bit of the LC wagon for a few months and am just getting back on). I was thinking this morning that if ketosis, especially while being in a fasted state during IF, can increase cognition - wouldn't it stand to reason that it could also enhance one's natural psychic ability?

Now if you aren't generally in tune with these concepts you could ponder the following questions and answer these:

Do you dream more/are your dreams more vivid?

Do you have "gut instincts" about things (or just "know something") that turn out to be more accurate/correct more often?

I'd be interested to hear of anyone's experience on this topic... Thank you :)

This. With all due respect to the OP, I was about to jump on the bandwagon of poking fun at the question until I actually read that it had nothing to do with psychic ability and everything to do with mental ability and clarity.

I am serious. It's ok, I don't expect everyone to take the question or my asking it seriously. Like I said though, I would appreciate responses from those who do. Thank you

Yes- I have had a similar experience lately but find very little info on this subject in these circles. I also study Yoga and they often recommend a vegetarian/grain heavy diet as being the best "spiritual" diet. I was a Veg for 5 years and found my mental fog/exhaustion/sickness to be extreme during those years. On a lower carb diet and especially in fasted/keto states - My mind is incredibly sharp and I physically feel my best. But I haven't been doing this for long enough (about 3 weeks) to see this go any deeper than that yet. Hence the question :) Thank you for your answer!

many seizure patients and cancer patients I treat report this as well. It makes sense when you understand the evolution or the human brain. I wrote about it in brain gut 13 on my blog.

Yes, I am just wondering if anyone has seen an increase in their natural psychic ability. I understand this is a topic that not all people are interested in or buy into; which is why I also framed the two questions re: dreams and gut instincts as that would also give me some helpful insight :)

'Psychic ability' is a poor choice of words, I'd go for 'cognitive ability' if I were you. Unless you really are wondering if anyone has developed a sixth sense. EDIT: Oh. You are.

I actually quit ketosis because I got tired of the burdensome ability to read other people's minds. There is a nice mystery of not knowing what others are thinking that I missed while in ketosis. Also it made the weekly game of Texas hold'em not as fun knowing what everyone else was holding in their hand and what the next card would be. Yep, being superhuman is not what it is cracked up to be.

Interesting question.

I have noticed more clarity of thought while in ketosis for the last 2 months, as well as having a stronger "yes" or "no" when I check with my intuition.

Subjectively, it feels like there is less interference and I have a greater ability to focus.

I first noticed the clarity wrt my hunger signals. I generally do a 16/8 or 18/6 IF every day and it is almost impossible for me to eat when I am not hungry or overeat.

Interesting question! I was just googling this as I have experienced unbelievably psychic events over the last few days while on the keto diet. Granted I've been exploring my spirituality for a while but never has it been like that before. Are you still on keto and do you still have that psychic experience?

I think you should word it differently. When you said psychic ability I almost took you for a nutjob.

I am a professional psychic, and i definitely find that food has an effect on how tuned in am generally. Mainly I have a greater need for trace minerals than most pple, I believe my work burns through them like crazy. Ketosis does make me feel more centered and focused, but so does yoga and a heaping tablespoon of coconut oil.

What ketosis does for me, more than change or improve my abilities, is that it allows me to focus and get through huge heaps of info/tasks more quickly than otherwise. The most intense psychic episodes of my life have had nothing to do with ketosis.
