When in ketosis and recording with ketostix, how many units are equivalent to 1 lb? Also, after doing Atkins for a decent amount of time and the body builds more of a tolerance to it, are there any nutrients or supplements to effect your body in a way to be less restrictive to ketosis?

The presence of ketones in your urine simply means that you are burning fat and producing ketones in enough quantity to activate the stick. Urine ketone are an unreliable measure of ketosis (you can be in deep ketosis and not show any) and are only losely correlated with your plasma ketone levels (which is what you are really interested in).
Either way, ketone levels vary from person to person, and there is no simple realtionship between measured ketone level and the amount of fat you've burned. Indeed you could be in deep ketosis and not oxidising any body fat because there you are consuming enough dietary fat to fuel the process.
MCT Oil is sometimes used to increase ketone production, allowing you to eat a slightly higher carbohydrate amount while remaining in ketosis.
