Is it safe for a diabetic 1 type to try dietary ketosis?

I was going to say Dr. Bernstein been in Ketosis for quite awhile and he is type 1 diabetic.

Im at type 1 diabetic, and I am in ketosis quite a bit.

Just make sure you are still taking your basal insulin (i take Lantus nightly). You need some insulin to keep your ketones from going into the ketoacidosis levels.

If you have insurance you should be covered for a ketone meter, because you're a diabetic. This helps a lot. Dont bother with the urine strips, they are not very accurate.
